We recently had a successful visit from The University of Birmingham’s Outreach Project, where students had the opportunity to explore two of their race cars, learn how a 3D printer works, and see a demonstration of the Robot Dog. Classes 2 and 3 were also lucky enough to participate in a hands-on workshop on building car structures. It was an inspiring experience, and we are grateful to the university for providing this exciting learning opportunity.
We would like to provide some important information regarding a section of the school known as The Ark, which has unfortunately been out of use for the past two years due to necessary repairs. During this period, we have been exploring the most effective way to address the issue and ensure the space is safe and functional for our children. After assessing the condition of The Ark, we have received a competitive quote for the required repairs, which amounts to a total of £10,000. This will cover the work needed to bring the area up to an adequate standard for use once again. We are currently working towards raising the funds needed to complete this project, and we appreciate your support as we move forward.
To kick off our fundraising initiative we have asked the children to design a logo or symbol portraying an Ark that will be used on all future fundraising posters. The children have safely visited the room for inspiration!
We will be launching Toast Tuesday, Ice cream Fridays and the Colossal Class Copper Collecting Challenge. More details coming soon …
A huge thank you to all the parents who have generously given their time to transport children to events over the past few terms. As a working parent myself, I truly understand that it’s not always possible to get involved, and we absolutely appreciate that. These events simply wouldn’t be able to take place without the support of a few dedicated volunteers. Thank you so much for making it all happen!
Class 2 had a fantastic morning at Down Ampney, where we explored their beautiful new spirituality garden and took part in activities at the church, learning all about Lent. It was a truly enriching experience for the children!
Warm regards,
Mrs Helen Seward
