Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome back! We’re thrilled to begin what promises to be a fun-filled and exciting Term 6, packed with enriching activities, special events, and wonderful learning opportunities for all our pupils.

Reflecting on Term 5

Although Term 5 was only four weeks long, we certainly made the most of it!

Jazz Festival Fun: Classes 2 and 3 enjoyed a vibrant (and very warm!) day at the Jazz Festival. It was a fantastic opportunity to experience a musical genre that many of our children may not have come across before—and they loved it!

Year 6 SATs: A huge well done to our Year 6 pupils who tackled the National SATs with enthusiasm, determination, and perseverance. We are incredibly proud of their positive attitude and commitment.

Water Safety Awareness: We had a visit from Puddleducks in The HIVE and Class 1, where we explored how to stay safe around water – especially important given our local  surroundings.

The Ark Fundraising: A massive thank you for your continued support with our fundraising for The Ark. Whether it was enjoying tea and cake at Come and See My Learning, a slice of toast, or a Friday ice cream treat – every contribution has helped. We’re delighted to share that we’ve raised an incredible £5,500 so far! Keep an eye out for more fundraising initiatives coming soon.

We are delighted to let you know that Mrs Barrett is expecting her first baby in November. We will keep you posted regarding term 2 plans for Class 3.

This term, Class 3 will continue their swimming sessions building on the progress they’ve made so far, while Class 2 will carry on developing their musical skills as they learn to play the clarinet. We are hoping to arrange a clarinet performance for parents at the end of their 10 sessions, giving the children a chance to showcase all they have learned.

Class 2 will be visiting Ampney Crucis to conclude our series of Small Schools RE visits, with a focus on Pentecost. This visit promises to be a meaningful experience, rounding off an important part of their religious education. Meanwhile, Year 6 will join other Church of England schools for the Leavers’ Service at Gloucester Cathedral; a very special occasion that marks an important milestone in their educational journey.

The long-awaited Class 3 Camp at PGL Liddington is just around the corner! Pupils will be packing their bags and heading off for three action-packed days filled with adventure, team-building, and memory-making. Parents can expect some very tired children returning and quite possibly some smelly laundry too!

Term 6 is also packed with sporting events, ranging from district and area competitions to our own School Sports Day, which will take place on the afternoon of Tuesday 15th July. More information about this will be shared shortly.

Finally, on Thursday 26th June, we are excited to   welcome a visiting author who will be working with some of our classes. We look forward to sharing more details about this inspiring visit soon!

Dates for your diary on page two.

Thank you once again for your continued support. We look forward to making Term 6 an enjoyable, inspiring, and memorable one for all our pupils.

Warm regards,

Mrs Helen Seward
