What a busy and exciting time it’s been here at Kempsford! The end of last term was full of energy and achievements  and Term 2 is already shaping up to be just as full of learning and new opportunities.

Congratulations to Mrs Barrett! We’re delighted to share some wonderful news – Mrs Barrett and her husband have welcomed a beautiful baby boy, Albie John Barrett. Both mum and baby are doing well, and we send them all our love and best wishes as they settle into life as a family of three. We look forward to seeing Mrs Barrett and little Albie when they visit us in the future.

A Huge Thank You to the Friends of Kempsford

Our sincere thanks go to the Friends of Kempsford for organising another brilliant school disco at the end of last term. The event was a huge success — in fact, it had the highest attendance we’ve seen since I joined the school! It was wonderful to see so many happy faces, lots of dancing. The funds raised will go directly towards enriching experiences for our children – more details to       follow in our next newsletter.

Young Leaders Award Launch

This term, Starling and Woodpecker classes had an inspiring launch assembly with Barry from the Lechlade Lions, who introduced the Young Leaders Award. This programme encourages children to develop confidence, responsibility, and a sense of service to others — values that sit right at the heart of what we do at Kempsford. It also ties beautifully into our school value for the term: Community. We can’t wait to see the children begin their projects and take on real leadership roles within the school and wider community. A gentle reminder to parents — please return your consent slips as soon as possible so everyone can get started. If you need another copy, just pop into the office and we’ll be happy to help.

FAREWELL TO MISS BAKER AND MRS GOODHALL

Next week, we will sadly be saying goodbye to Miss Baker, who will be moving on to a new chapter after six dedicated years at Kempsford. Over the years, she has supported so many pupils, shared her warmth and creativity, and brought endless energy to everything she’s done. She will be greatly missed by both staff and children, and we know you’ll all join us in wishing her every success and happiness in her new adventure. We’d like to say a big thank you and good luck to Mrs Goodhall, who has stepped down from her role as After School Lead to take on a bigger role at Farmor’s. She’s done a fantastic job and we really appreciate all her hard work. We’re pleased that she’ll still be part of our school community as a governor.

WELCOME TO OUR NEW STAFF MEMBERS

We’re also delighted to welcome Miss Williams and Ms Wilkes to the Kempsford team this term. They have both joined us as Teaching Assistants and will also be working together in our After School Club. They’ve already made a fantastic start — getting to know the children, supporting learning in class, and bringing fresh ideas and enthusiasm to our school community. We’re very pleased to have them on board and look forward to all they will contribute.

LOOKING AHEAD

As we move further into Term 2, we have lots to look forward to — from curriculum projects and outdoor learning to festive preparations in the lead-up to Christmas. Thank you, as always, for your continued support and partnership. Together, we make Kempsford the warm, caring, and vibrant school we’re so proud of.
