Dear Parents and Friends of the school,
Mosaic
I’m sure you will have been as excited as the children were to see their mosaic mounted in pride of place near the entrance to the hall, facing the playground and gates as a reminder of our motto – “Together we will rise!” My thanks go to Mr Calver for mounting this. He is, bit by bit, making a great difference to the premises.
Head Teacher Interviews
The School Pupil Council were involved in the Head Teacher interviews. From Reception to Year 6, they prepared questions and asked them politely. They really listened to the answers and were a credit, representing all the pupils in this crucial process. Well done, School Councillors!

Mock Trial
“Last term, Class 3 got on the bus and travelled to Cirencester. Everybody was nervous because we were taking part in a Mock Trial against another school. We were the prosecution team and we tried to prove that another child had taken inappropriate photos at a swimming gala. The other school provided the defence. In the end the judges decided that guilt had not been proven beyond reasonable doubt, so the defendant went free. We had all dressed up and did well in our roles. People spoke loudly and clearly. We had a good time whether we were involved as witnesses, lawyers or just watching.” Report by Ruby, Year 6
Attendance
You will recall that good attendance is crucial for good progress – and whilst the school is only just lower than the National Average, the spread of data is concerning, with those needing the most help often those with lowest attendance or habitual lateness. Please make every effort to get children here on time, since missing teacher input at the start of lessons can cause distress, disengagement and extra work for the adults. Congratulations to the 48 children (and by extension, their families) who have never been late.
Online Safety
PC Leah Davis worked with Years 5 & 6, teaching about online safety today. The children asked great questions and now understand more about keeping themselves safer online.

The Ark Updates
The Ark continues to come back to life as the home of the school library – suitable for all ages and abilities. You can see why a sofa and bean bags (or lots of beans!) could really make this a pleasant place to be, so please keep your eyes open for possible donations!
THINK. It is ILLEGAL TO PARK on zig zag lines outside a school. Potentially, it endangers all our children.
