Welcome Back to Term 3!
A warm welcome back to Term 3! We hope everyone had a refreshing and enjoyable break, and we are excited to get started on another busy term. What a cold start to the term it has been!
Class 3 News
Class 3 has an exciting visit coming up from the magistrates! This special visit is in preparation for some important work they will be doing later in the year. It’s a fantastic opportunity for the children to learn about the legal system and gain valuable real-world insights from the experts.
Prayer Space Initiative
This term, we are thrilled to be involved in organizing a Prayer Space for all of the local small schools. The Prayer Space will focus on friendship and working as a team collaboratively. It’s a wonderful chance for children to reflect and grow in their understanding of teamwork, kindness, and unity. We look forward to seeing the positive impact this initiative will have on everyone involved.
ELSA Day
We are also excited to announce that the whole school will be participating in an ELSA (Emotional Literacy Support Assistant) day. This day will be focused on promoting emotional well-being and strategies to help children navigate challenges. We are eager to share with you the strategies that we have been promoting across the school, which will be visible in the classrooms to support our children’s emotional growth.
Year 4’s Trip to Down Ampney
Year 4 has an exciting trip planned to Down Ampney, where they will complete an Online Safety Workshop. This will help the children further develop their knowledge of online safety and how to navigate the digital world responsibly. It’s sure to be an informative and engaging experience for all.
Open Classroom Event
Finally, we want to remind you about our Open Classroom Event during the last week of term. We hope to see as many of you as possible attending to see the fantastic work our children have been doing. It’s a great opportunity to connect and celebrate the achievements of our school community.
We’re looking forward to an exciting and successful term ahead. Thank you for your continued support!
Warm regards
Mrs Helen Seward
Agree on boundaries
Be clear about what your child can and can’t do online – where and when they can use the internet, how much time they can spend online, the sites they can visit and the type of information they can share. Agree with your child when they can have a mobile phone or tablet. When you do give them their first device make sure that it is set up appropriately for them with the right parental controls in place. It’s a good idea to introduce tech-free meal times and encourage them to keep phones out of the bedroom at night to help them build a healthy screen time balance.
Check if it’s suitable
The age ratings that come with games, apps, films and social networks are a good guide to whether they’re suitable for your child. For example, the minimum age limit is 13 for several social networking sites, including Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat and TikTok.
