Modern Foreign Languages

The core language taught at Kempsford C of E Primary School is French. However, we also provide pupils with opportunities to explore a range of languages throughout the year based upon our family links. Our planning is based on the LCP scheme of work which covers all the components of the National Curriculum Programme of Study. It is the intention that all children in KS2 will access first quality teaching of French by their class teacher in order to adequately prepare them for KS3. We also encourage class teachers to utilise opportunities to reinforce spoken language outside the specified curriculum delivery. KS1 children will be introduced to MFL through exploring other languages informally when appropriate.
