Family Lives Volunteering

Please see the attached information from a Gloucestershire volunteer group.

Dear Parent,

Are you a good listener, friendly and non-judgemental? Would you like to help parents make positive changes?

If the answer is yes then we could really use your skills a volunteer befriender.

Family Lives is a national charity with over 30 years of volunteering experience that works for, and with parents and families. We firmly believe that it is normal for all families to have difficulties from time to time and that with the right support we can, in partnership with those families, turn these difficulties around.

At Family Lives we aim to offer that support and for last two years we have been recruiting and training people just like you to become Volunteer Befrienders. Our team of volunteer befrienders provide free, non-judgemental and confidential support to some of the most isolated families in Gloucestershire and have quite literally turned lives around.

All our volunteers are trained, receive regular support and have the opportunity to achieve a level Accreditation in Befriending. Many have moved from volunteering into paid employment or have found that their time spent with us has offered a window into the career change they have always dreamt of.

We are currently recruiting right now and are looking to start training in March so if you think this might be for you and  would like to have an informal chat then please do give me a call on 01453 751676 or you can email me on admin-glos@familylives.org.uk

I look forward to hearing from you soon.
