Farewell Letter from Miss Portch

Dear Children, Staff and Parents of Kempsford,

I just wanted to write to say thank you for my time at Kempsford. I have many happy memories of my time with you all and will miss the friendships I’ve made over the years and the fun and laughter I’ve shared with you all. Some of the moments that still bring an instant smile to my face are my trips to the Wilderness Centre where I loved the chance to spend a more relaxed time with the children and where they possibly saw a more relaxed side to me! The many “eureka” moments I’ve shared with children when I’ve had the pleasure of watching an idea or concept concrete itself in a child’s mind is the reason I believe teacher’s teach, and something I have had the pleasure of witnessing during my time at Kempsford. Every class I have taught has brought with it different challenges, but more importantly has given me the opportunity to get to know another lovely group of children. The staff I have worked with throughout the years have also been fantastic. There have definitely been times when I have needed your support and friendship and it has always been given without question. I was worried that when I left I would lose those friendships until I realised that I don’t need to go into work every day to keep you in my life. Thank you. I’d also like to say a big thank you to the parents of all of these fantastic children, for your support and encouragement. I’ve made some great friends amongst you too.

The biggest thank you of all goes to the children. You are the reason I have taught. You make me smile and laugh and be proud to be a part of your education and your childhoods. The memories of you will stay with me for a long time.

Team Kempsford I shall miss you!

Best wishes to you all,

Rach / Rachel / Miss Portch
